About

Aaron Lang works dancing.

In movement improvisations, he immerses himself in the meditative state of doing, of performative search and sense-making. He collaborates in sensual-magical ways with plants, catalyzing the transformation of our imagination with images and physical states that originate from socio-historic contexts.

He is co-founder of Studio 0/1, an artist group that since 2023 share a studio in Tempelhof, as well as a co-organiser and collaborator with ‘infinity rug’ since 2022, and he is member of the infamous ‘Plant Babes’.

He has shown solo work at HAU2 Berlin and collaborative work at SAVVY Contemporary Berlin, Hošek Contemporary Berlin, Klub Zak Gdansk, 90mil Berlin, 48h Neukölln, amongst others. He has developed artistic work in residencies at Lake Studios Berlin, Trust Foundation Portugal, Kulturhuset Frölunda, amongst others.

Between 2020 and 2022, while pursuing a MA Sociology at TU Berlin, he worked as student researcher in various positions. (at MA Design&Computation (Prof. Lang), in the collaborative research centre „Re-Figuration of Spaces“ (Prof. Löw) and in „MigraTouriSpace“ (Prof. Bürkle))

In 2024, he was advisor to Katarzyna Paluch‘s MA Thesis in „Moving by the Paradox“ at the faculty of Contemporary Performing Arts at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden

In his free time, he climbs a lot and he financed his dance studies through work in gardening. In 2024, for the first time he worked for Baumpflege Wick, a swiss arborist company, where he could combine climbing skill and plant knowledge.

He practices bodywork based on an intuitive yet precise approach to trigger point therapy and he learns about traditional european herbal medicine and magic. He likes languages (mother tongue German, English, Spanish, French, Russian; basic Portuguese, Polish and Turkish, learning Javanese), as well as crafts and foraging.
